FAIRFIELD, Ohio -- Paramedics in one southwest Ohio community got a surprise while treating a patient they thought was a pregnant woman. Police reports say a life squad in Butler County's Fairfield Township was called Monday to a Speedway gas station, where a person who couldn't speak much English wanted to be taken to the hospital. A medic told police that on the way to Mercy Hospital Fairfield, they lifted the patient's dress to see if she was giving birth, because she appeared to be very pregnant. That's when they discovered their patient was a man. According to police, he told the squad he was depressed and just wanted to go to the hospital. No further action was taken.
